Planning and Development Enforcement Team Leader Location: Coalville/HybridContract Type: PermanentHours: Full timeSalary: £41,771-£46,141 per annum Job purpose: To supervise the day-to-day work of the officers within the Planning Enforcement Team, develop the team, assist with reviewing and making changes so that the team works in the most efficient and customer-focused way possible and to deal with some of the more complex enforcement cases in the district to effectively resolve any issues. Main duties and responsibilities: • To carry out duties resulting from the application of the Town and Country Planning Act and allied legislation.• To supervise the staff and work of the Planning Enforcement team, ensuring that work is properly distributed, checked and corrected as necessary, that deadlines are met and that any problems are brought to the attention of the Planning and Development Team Manager.• To motivate and develop the Planning Enforcement Team so that it is enabled to properly serve the customer and deliver the Council s objectives.• To carry a caseload of more complex planning enforcement cases, and to undertake inspections and other monitoring visits to assess compliance with relevant legislation.• Take appropriate enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation by serving Enforcement Notices, Tree Preservation Orders and other statutory notices.• To represent the Council at enforcement appeals, public inquiries and in court when necessary.• To attend the Council s Planning Committee, public meetings and liaison committee meetings including meetings outside normal office hours as may be required• To be responsible for working within the requirements of the Local Enforcement Plan and review and update the document as and when required.
