HGV Mechanic / Technician Section: Fleet Operations and ComplianceHours: 45-50 per weekLeicester Heavy Haulage operate a fleet of DAF and MAN vehicles up to 250 tonnes, along with Nooteboom, Scheuerle, Broshuis, Montracon and Dennison trailer equipment, VW vans, forklifts and a Grove crane from our 5 acre site at Ellistown, Coalville.We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of highly motivated and loyal professionals who work collaboratively to ensure all work is carried out to the highest of standards.The workshop department plays an integral part in the Company's fleet operations, ensuring legal compliance in all areas.The workshop's normal operating hours are Monday to Friday 08.00am to 17.30pm. Saturday hours are 06.00am to 11.00am (Saturdays are overtime and are not guaranteed).Weekly pay.Guaranteed 45hrs minimum £812.50 per week / £42250 a year.Average 50hrs which would work out around £48100 a year + additional phone & steam clean payments.Overtime rates apply.The job requires the successful applicant to work a call out rota. Experience of Goods Vehicle MOT preparation is desirable. We specialise in all aspects of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and can carry out all classes of vehicle MOT's. Our well-equipped workshops are capable of taking all vehicles from motorcycles, cars, light commercials, heavy goods vehicles and trailers.Our other services also include vehicle breakdown and recovery operated by a dedicated team of recovery specialists with a fleet of recovery units from fully equipped single car units, multi car transporters and heavy goods recovery units.Our workshops are based on our multi-site operation in Ellistown, South Leicestershire. The Role. Working from our fast paced Ellistown workshops we are looking for a fully competent technician who is self sufficient; you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing and maintaining a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailer units. You will be working on a range of different manufactures on a daily basis and preparing vehicles to the highest standard. Daily duties will include. Carry out routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standards. Diagnose, check and set mechanical systems. Set up accessories and specific equipment on the vehicles. As required, attend to disabled vehicles at the roadside or on customers' premises. Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues. Carry out work on the vehicle's electrical system and use information from the wiring diagrams and manuals for electrical components. Liaise with parts department to request and obtain parts in a timely manner. Ensure all job cards, service sheets and inspection sheets are completed clearly and correctly for the work completed. Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend any training courses provided. Have previous knowledge with dealer/3rd party diagnostics equipment. Be computer literate. Requirements: HGV Technician qualification NVQ level 3 and or Time Served.
