An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper or Company Accountant to work for a family run builder, based in Leicestershire.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all routine aspects of finance covering, purchase and sales ledgers. You will also provide Aftercare Admin services to our Construction Director.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing of a high volume of supplier invoices, petty cash and expenses, full control of all payment runs.
Posting of payments and receipts, allocation to ledgers and reconciliation of bank accounts on a weekly and monthly basis.
Making payments online at the bank for all invoices and expenses.
Preparation and submission of HMRC data including VAT returns and CIS.
Administrative Duties:
Logging jobs for all Aftercare queries
Answering emails and phones, also sorting post
Supporting the Directors and senior managers in day-to-day operations
Carrying out requests from management as needed
Key skills / Experience
Excellent working knowledge of Sage 50cloud (essential) and CIS Tax scheme (preferred). Proven Bookkeeping and Purchase Ledger experience. You must be confident in being able to run our Purchase Ledger and month end function on your own.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Methodical and organised approach to record keeping.
Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise a busy workload.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a flexible attitude. All our staff roll up their sleeves and undertake work that may be outside of the job scope.
Proficiency in MS Office, (Word, Excel and Outlook).
