Two people were threatened with a 'hammer and a baton' by masked burglars on Thursday evening.

Leicestershire Police are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary in Stanton under Barton.

At around 9.15pm last night (Thursday 14 March), two men, wearing balaclavas and dressed in black clothing, broke into a property in Main Street and threatened the two occupants with what has been described as a hammer and baton.

Threats were made for money before a small quantity of cash was stolen.

PC Rhiannon Green is investigating the incident near Coalville, and is appealing for information.

She said: "Understandably although the two victims were not physically injured, they have been left upset by what happened.

"I would like to urge anyone who may have been in the area and may have any information related to this incident to please get in touch.

"Did you see these two men leaving the scene? Did they get into a vehicle and see which direction they went? Were you driving through the area around this time and have a dashcam?

"Please get in touch with any information you have as it may assist our investigation."

Anyone with information can contact the police on 101 quoting 24*153758 or online HERE.
