This weekend's Coalville events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities - and hopefully there is something for everyone.

On Friday, the Century Theatre is showing One Life (12A), which is a dramatic biographical film based on the British humanitarian Sir Nicholas Winton.

In this mesmerizing film, Sir Nicolas looks back on his past efforts to help groups of Jewish children in German-occupied Czechoslovakia hide and flee in the months leading up to World War II.

Starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Flynn as Sir Nicolas, with Lena Olin, Helena Bonham Carter, Romola Garai, Alex Sharp and Sir Jonathan Pryce in supporting roles.

Coalville CAN hosts a 10-day exhibition by the UK Glass Art Collective, beginning today (Thursday).

This is a newly formed collaboration of 14 creative glass kiln fusing artists who share a love and passion for glass.

It is a national group located across the country and came together after participating in another exhibition last year curated by Catherine Dunstan.

Also at Coalville CAN on Sunday its first Wellbeing Open Day.

CAN's Memorial Square-based offices will be open from 11am-3pm hosting a variety of local practitioners, free drop in creative taster sessions and a series of short talks - all celebrating creativity, connecting with nature, and self care.

Friday sees the monthly Ibstock Soul Club make its return.

It is Leicestershire's biggest monthly Soul night.

This March there are all three resident DJs Richard Reed, Rob Gray and Sean Taylor - with special guest DJs Helen and Simon Charteris playing the best in Northern Soul and Tamla Motown.

All on vinyl on the venue's superb surround sound system with a fully air conditioned room, super wooden sprung dance floor and drinks at sensible prices.
