Quality Assurance Engineer, Radar Road, Leicester (Contract) As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will provide essential support to our business in delivering quality services, with a specific focus on our assurance programme and projects. Your role will involve developing and implementing quality arrangements across all delivery activities, ensuring their effective implementation through regular audits and reporting. Key Responsibilities This position requires someone who understands our Business Management System (BMS), can review and update BMS documentation, and support problem-solving and improvement activities. You will also support an agreed assurance programme, working closely with the (Senior) Quality Manager to maximise resource utilisation relevant to our business area. In this role, you will provide expert advice and support on quality matters to the business, including the delivery of quality plans and appropriate allocation of quality levels for work activities. You will also assist in planning, scheduling, conducting, and reporting audits, as well as supporting compliance with relevant standards and regulations for new projects. You will review findings from independent assurance activities, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continual improvement across our business. Furthermore, you will ensure the proper management and closure of site quality non-conformances and issues, as well as review and approve supplier quality arrangements in accordance with project and customer requirements. Your role will also involve monitoring progress against site quality arrangements, identifying any concerns and escalating them to line management if necessary. You will also ensure that site lifetime records are clearly identified, prepared, and maintained in line with relevant review and approval activities, alongside ongoing site activities. Responsibilities Reporting into the Engineering Manager, your role is to oversee all maintenance and technical work in the factory, both proactively and reactively, leading a maintenance and technical team of up to 11 staff members on shift. This role and opportunity still requires a "hands on" approach with an estimated split of 60% management and 40% hands on. So, when the going gets tough, this person will still have an active role to play in supporting the machinery in those occasions and only when required. This role is to focus on bringing a sense of positivity and enthusiasm to the team, driving a continuous improvement culture and provide support, guidance, training and delegation of works to the team. Planning and scheduling of work and utilising and maximising on the CMMS system. To minimise downtime, establish and combat reoccurring problems, look at first fix right fix, and provide necessary training to engineers by way of upskilling and development on their weaknesses. Health and safety and compliance will form part of this roles responsibility too, ensuring all correct PPE are provided and worn, and correct procedures are followed.
