Coalville's Rural Police Team will be holding an interactive event in Packington next month.

You will have the chance to talk to the officers who are focusing on countryside crime and network with a number of organisations of interest such as Land Rover Security and the NFU.

The event will be held at Hill Farm, Spring Lane, Packington, LE65 1WU.

Officers PC Emma Holmes and PC Tony Gallagher formed North West Leicestershire's Rural Crime last month with a view to focusing on the community in the countryside.

More information can be had from the Team's first newsletter which has been issued this week.

In it, they explain that, following a meeting with the East Midlands National Farmers' Unit Manager, they will be more victim personal statements around the huge impact some of the crimes are having on farmers.

They add that they have meeting lined up with adjoining police forces where they will be looking to share ideas in how to tackle rural crime and organising joint operations to target the areas where criminals cause the most harm.
