A woman was arrested in connection with a reported assault on a man in Ibstock on Saturday.

The man, in his 50s, was allegedly attacked by the woman, 27, who is believed to have been known to him.

Witnesses said there was a strong police presence in the Curzon Street area.

But the incident happened at a property in Deepdale Close.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Coalville Nub News: "Police were called just after 6pm following a report that a man in his 50s had been assaulted by a woman known to him at an address in Deepdale Close.

"A 27-year-old woman was later arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail while enquiries continue."
