This weekend's Coalville events cover a wide range of entertainment - hopefully there is something for everyone.

Don't forget, you can advertise your event for free at Coalville Nub News - and reach thousands of our readers at the same time.

Whether it is a gig, a comedy night, a pub quiz or maybe your monthly society meeting, just fill in the form HERE and we will list it for you in our What's On section.

This weekend, the emphasis is on tribute bands, with some impressive live music on offer from 60s pop, through to classic rock and iconic songs.

The Century Theatre in Coalville is hosting The Bootleg Shadows on Saturday night.

They will be performing a unique concert that showcases The Shadows amazing career from 1960 up until the early 80s.

Relive such fantastic hits as: Apache, Foot Tapper, FBI, Man of Mystery, Atlantis, Wonderful Land, Kon Tiki, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Let Me Be The One, Move It, plus many more.

For anyone who loves the sounds of the 60's, and enjoys a few laughs along the way, this show is one not to be missed.

More details are available HERE.

Saturday also sees Fred Zeppelin playing live at the Victoria Bikers' Pub in Coalville.

Fred Zeppelin are real fans and formed 'The Fredz' out of their admiration and love of Led Zeppelin's music.

As their name suggests the band don't take themselves too seriously, they know the praise belongs to Robert, Jimmy, John Paul Jones and Bonzo. And, the Fredz will still continue with their tradition of honouring the music of Led Zeppelin and not dressing up to imitate them. Please keep in mind they are not a cabaret style look-a-like act.

You can find out more details HERE.

Also on Saturday, The Emporium in Coalville is playing host to Queen tribute act Qe2 : The Very Best Of Queen Live.

The critically acclaimed UK's top tribute band to Freddie Mercury & Queen take to the stage with a desire in each member to replicate what made queen so special and to bring back some of the live magic that made them the international super-group they are today.

Sunday sees the Coalville Community Fun Run at Snibston Colliery Park - an event organised by Coalville Belvoir Rotary Club.

This will be a fun event with entrants completing a 5k or 2k course. The theme is pyjamas and onesies, although fancy dress is optional.

The organisers hope people from the local area take part including serious runners, families and even well behaved dogs.

The event is not a race, so there won't be prizes for first place but everybody who completes either course will receive a medal. Entrants can choose to run, jog or walk the course, with all ages and abilities welcome.

It is hoped this Fun Run will become an annual event which people look forward to.

Two local charities, Islastones Foundation and Hospice Hope, will be the main recipients of profits from the event this year. These charities were selected as they are based locally and provide much needed services to local people.

More details are HERE.

Also on Sunday, the 1620s House at Donington le Heath is hosting a talk on the Court of Elizabeth 1.

Join Nick Gravestock as he leads you through a jaunty Galliard of musicians and music found at the court of Elizabeth.

In this talk, Nick will discuss the variety of their music and the purposes behind it. He will even play some of the music on a selection of instruments of the period.

You'll also have chance to ask questions and get hands-on with the instruments.

More details are HERE.

There is a talk on a different subject this Monday evening at the Coalville CAN offices in Marlborough Square.

You will be able to find out how best to make your money work for you in retirement.

How to Retire as a Millionaire will be offering financial advice.

More details are HERE.
