The weekend's major event will be the Big Coronation Lunch being held at Coalville Park from noon onwards.

King Charles III coronation will be marked in Coalville by live music, children's activities and a big picnic in the park.

Friends and families can join The Big Coronation Lunch at Coalville Park on Sunday to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III with free activities and entertainment.

Organised by North West Leicestershire District Council, live performances will kick off at 12pm with local bands The Inspired, and Leicestershire Co-op Band.

Until 4pm families can enjoy craft activities, balloon modelling as well posing in a coronation-themed photo booth.

Those with a thick skin and a good sense of humour can also get a caricature drawing to take home.

Refreshments will be available during the event and attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, and picnic blankets or chairs.

While there is no on-site parking, visitors can use the town centre spaces and walk to the park.

There will be other Coronation celebrations going on across the area.

At the 1620s House in Donington le Heath, there will be a Coronation Afternoon Tea.

Set in the unique and relaxed surroundings of the 1620s barn and gardens, you will be able to enjoy a selection of tasty sandwiches, cakes and scones, served along with hot or cold soft drinks.
