This weekend's Coalville events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities - and hopefully there is something for everyone.

Don't forget, you can advertise your event for free at Coalville Nub News - and reach thousands of our readers by doing so.

Whether it is a gig, a comedy night, a pub quiz or maybe your monthly society meeting, just fill in the form HERE and we will list it for you in our What's On section.

An Oasis reunion may not be likely anytime soon - but the next best thing is a tribute to the Manchester rockers.

The Central Bar and Venue in Ibstock hosts Oasish on Friday night.

Since forming in 2004, Oasish have taken the tribute world by storm. The attention to detail is incredible and many have hailed them as being better than the real thing.

They have performed at Wembley Stadium, The National Indoor Arena, Manchester Academy and are the only band to perform at the now world famous Glastonbudget Festival every single year it has been running.

The band do not use cheap imitation copies of the real band's instruments or clothes either. The 'Noel' actually uses the exact same model of guitar, a Gibson ES355, that the 'real' Noel Gallagher plays.

Amps used are also custom made Hi Watt and vintage Fender amps to recreate that big oasis sound that became their trademark throughout the 90s.

More details are HERE.

Still in Ibstock, the Palace Community Centre has a musical theme as well.

The venue's Film Night features Back to Black.

This is the life and music of Amy Winehouse, through the journey of adolescence to adulthood and the creation of one of the best-selling albums of our time.

The movie stars Marisa Abela, Eddie Marsan and Jack O'Connell.

In Coalville, The Emporium in Belvoir Road is hosting Jump and Groove.

The Party People bring you two rooms of music - Room 1 UKG and Bassline, Room 2 Drum and Bass.

It starts at 9pm and finishes at 4am.

Back in Ibstock, the Central Bar and Venue has Diana Ross by Tameeka Jackson (plus support act Chris Robin).

Captivating audiences all over the world for many years, Tameka Jackson is a natural entertainer, and a true success in the world of tribute artists, and of her own accord with chart-climbing success.

Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with international superstars.

From performing with Prince's band in the infamous Jazzmines Jazz Club (in Minneapolis, USA), to singing along with the Grammy award-winning gospel group, Sounds of Blackness, Tameka's list of accolades is truly something special.

Tameka's talents have taken her all over the world, performing in several different countries with Tina Turner's band.

Next Wednesday, the 1620s House in Donington le Heath has a production of The Hound of the Baskervilles at its Open Air Theatre.

Who killed Sir Charles Baskerville? Can anyone prevent the same fate befalling the young Sir Henry Baskerville? Is a monstrous hound really roaming Dartmoor? Why is someone systematically stealing Sir Henry's shoes?

And how does a ghostly hound manage to leave vast paw-prints and other unwelcome evidence of its existence? The original and greatest literary detective of them all, Sherlock Holmes, and his assistant Doctor Watson, tackle the most baffling case of their careers in this faithful, cheeky but chilling adaptation.

More details are HERE.

The Heather Scarecrow Festival runs until Sunday - and the annual event is proving as popular as ever.

Once a year, in the nicest possible way, the good people of Heather go slightly insane!

Throughout the village, the gardens are dotted with scarecrows, scores and scores of them, some of celebs, some topical, many of them cheerfully daft, and all competing for the votes of the people who come from miles around to see them.

It's the perfect outdoor family event.
