Leicestershire developer David Wilson Homes has donated £3,000 to Coalville Foodbank, a vital community service providing emergency food parcels to individuals and families in financial difficulties.
Coalville Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network, has been a cornerstone of the community by delivering three days' worth of emergency food to those in need.
The foodbank aims to alleviate hunger and provide support to residents facing financial hardships.
Established with a mission to combat food insecurity, Coalville Foodbank benefits hundreds of individuals every year, offering not only sustenance but also hope and stability during difficult times.
Alison Carr, Administrator at Coalville Foodbank, said: "We were overwhelmed when David Wilson Homes got in touch to say we'd been chosen to receive the donation.
"Donations are crucial to maintaining the work we do and, without them, we wouldn't be able to provide for our community. It's an overwhelming feeling."
The recent contribution of £3,000 will be used primarily to purchase food supplies, ensuring the foodbank can continue to serve those in need.
These donations are instrumental in helping the charity meet the increasing demand for its services, especially during challenging economic times.
David Wilson Homes' donation was made as part of its Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Foundation, which is run by its parent company, Barratt Developments.
It is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Alison added: "David Wilson Homes' Community Fund scheme is a fabulous initiative supporting charities that rely on donations to operate. We're incredibly grateful for the support."
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: "We are pleased to support Coalville Foodbank with our Community Fund donation.
"Its work provides an essential lifeline to many families and individuals in our community, and we hope our contribution helps the charity to continue providing valuable services."
