The Palace Community Centre in Ibstock has a production of New Model Village on Sunday night.

Set in rural England today, two parallel worlds are at loggerheads. Meet intern Jodie, foxhunting villager Jill, miniaturist and history buff Brian, Victor the village Mayor, Urban Artist Culter and Henry, the health inspector.

Welcome to the Model Village, set in an acre of idyllic England. Perfect waist-high houses are bordered by manicured lawns with bonsai trees; there is a fishing village, a town hall, a castle, a pier and a zoo. But the jaded attraction is in debt and developers are prospecting.

The marketing team, chasings, proposes a multi-cultural estate of affordable eco-housing.

The village is closed for renovations. Architectural miniaturist Brian and work-placement Jodie are joined by Cutler, a big-name artist from the city and then things start to go wrong.

You can find details of how to book HERE.

Still in Ibstock, the Central Bar is hosting the monthly Ibstock Soul Club on Friday.

The club is marking its 16th Anniversary night at Leicestershire's biggest monthly soul night.

All three resident DJs Richard Reed, Rob Gray & Sean Taylor will be there, with special guest National DJ Ted Massey from Sutton Coldfield.

Playing the best in Northern Soul and Tamla Motown all on vinyl on the venue's superb surround sound system.

More details are HERE.

The Palace in Ibstock has A little bit more than a quiz night... quiz night.

Come along for an evening of quizzing and entertainment.

The cost is £4 per person, all welcome, teams up to a maximum of six.

The 1620s House in Donington le Heath is getting in the mood for Halloween with a Pesky Pumpkins Hunt for kids this weekend.

A wicked witch has cast a spell on the vegetable patch, and now those pesky pumpkins have uprooted themselves and hidden around the site.

Can you help us find them all?

More details are HERE.
