Flood warnings were issued for the Grace Dieu Brook on Friday evening - and remained in place today (Saturday).

The Gov.uk website says that river levels are high but steady at the Whitwick downstream river gauge as a result of Storm Babet which has caused havoc across the UK.

It adds that flooding continues and the areas most at risk are Whitwick and Thringstone.

Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.

The situation is being closely monitored according to the website.

Residents are being advised to move possessions and valuables off the ground - or to safety - and move family, pets and cars to safety.

The website will be updated as the situation changes.

Flood warning area: Grace Dieu Brook at Whitwick and Thringstone including junction on Ashby Road and Snarrow's Road.
