Community volunteers are needed as Woodlands Project sets up at Thringstone

The Community Woodlands Project is coming to Thringstone in collaboration with the Charles Booth Centre.

The Bob's Close Meadow site has been welcomed to the project

Plans are currently being drafted to create a community woodland here, with opportunities for fruit foraging.

Now, the Project is seeking community input to help form them.

It is looking for community volunteers to help plant and maintain the woodland with training provided by the National Forest Company.

If you want to find out more, you can come to the Charles Booth Centre on: Friday, November 3, between 10am-Noon; Friday, November 17, 10am-Noon.

You will be able to discuss the project and provide feedback, as well has having a free hot drink.

The Hinckley-based charity delivers numerous community interest projects aimed at enhancing the lives of rural Leicestershire residents.

The projects are being delivered in partnership with the National Forest Company and encourage local people to get involved in activities such as the initial design, to future management and maintenance of the spaces.
