The Century Theatre in Coalville has two events on this weekend.

On Friday, the venue is showing a film Allelujah (12A).

Starring Jennifer Saunders, Bally Gill, David Bradley and Russell Tovey - with Derek Jacobi and Judi Dench.

It is the story of a geriatric ward in a small Yorkshire hospital threatened with closure.

Adapted for the big screen by Heidi Thomas (Call the Midwife) from Alan Bennett's 2018 play.

Lots of Bennett's typical warmth and humour but with a serious view of the NHS and a sting in the tail.

You can find more details HERE.

The Century Theatre is also staging a free event on Saturday night.

Jayne Leslie is back in Coalville for another spectacular night singing along to the greatest Soul and Motown hits.

Come along to the fabulous and friendly bar area where you can dance the night away – or just sit and relax and tap your toes!

You can find more details of this free show HERE.

Ibstock's Central Bar has two tribute acts playing live on Saturday night - echoing the music of Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.

Born Jovi and Brian Adams will be on stage at the Central Avenue venue.

You can find more details HERE.

Still in Ibstock, and the town's famous Soul Club is back on Friday night.

Held in the Central Bar's Function Room, it is North West Leicestershire's biggest monthly Soul night.

This month, there will be two resident DJs Richard Reed & Sean Taylor with special guest DJs Simon Hunt from Derby, originally Ashby de la Zouch, and Mick Andrew Reynolds from Dudley, playing the best in Northern Soul & Tamla Motown.

All on vinyl on the venue's superb surround sound system.

More details are HERE.

For the creative among you, the 1620s House in Donington le Heath has a Basket Willow Weaving Workshop.

Suitable for beginners, you will learn how to make a beautiful willow basket. You will learn an ancient craft in the tranquil setting of the historic Barn and Gardens.

You will learn about willow and its properties and be guided through using willow to create your own traditional frame basket which is perfect for foraging, herbs and flower arrangements.

You can find more details HERE.
