There are a wide variety of events happening in Coalville this weekend - including an invitation to sample some fresh flavours at the town's new venue.

Tomorrow (Friday) sees the arrival of Foodie Friday at Coalville's Newmarket in Marlborough Square.

It is on from 9-4pm and is billed as a chance to tuck in to some new and exciting flavours.

On Saturday night, the Century Theatre is staging a night of Open Mic - Live Music, Comedy and Poetry.

Come along to the relaxed and friendly Bar and Mezzanine area for a new Open Mic session.

All are welcome – amateur to professional – for this fun and creative meet-up of comedy, live music, poetry and more.

Entry is free – just come along and be ready to enjoy a great evening.

The Black Horse in Whitwick has well known singer Sally Barker who will be joined by Keith Buck at the Church Lane venue.

The Victoria Bikers pub in Coalville has two gigs on this weekend.

Also on Saturday, the Central Bar and Grill in Ibstock plays host to a Band Called Malice - a tribute to The Jam.
