Thringstone Man In Court After Threats Made In Whitwick Incident

A Thringstone man has been arrested and charged following threats made in an incident in Whitwick on Saturday.

The 20-year-old man was charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence.

Harry Morley, 20, of Loughborough Road, in Thringstone, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court yesterday.

But a second man arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence has been released on bail.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "The charge relates to an incident in Whitwick on Saturday when threats were made towards a man.

"A 30-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence has been released on bail."

Social media reports over the weekend suggested armed police officers gained entry to a property in Thringstone on Saturday.
