A Thringstone Tapestry has been created by village groups as part of Hello Heritage 2022.

Friends of Thringstone - Thringstone Creates - has been busy over the last few months working with the village and its community groups to put together a bespoke historical tableau.

This depicts parts of the village, which are known and loved by many.

As part of Hello Heritage, there will be an exhibition at the Charles Booth Centre on September 10 between 12 noon and 6pm at which this tapestry will be displayed.

Many hours of work has gone into producing the tapestry, and the pictures attached show just three sections created by Jayne Grewcock, Thringstone Primary and Thringstone WI.

Chairman of Friends of Thringstone, Nita Pearson BEM, said 'We believe we are the only group in the district to have produced a historical tapestry of this kind for this, or indeed, any local event, and we are obviously blessed with some very talented people in our village.

"We hope that people will come along on September 10 to look at the tapestry, our exhibition and archive material, and see just what Thringstone has to offer.

"There will also be several historical notice boards scattered around the village for people to take a walk and learn more about our past."
