The leader and deputy leader of North West Leicestershire District Council are to meet with representative of the George Smith Hub concerning their plans to close.
Earlier this week, the Hotel Street based Hub announced it was to shut this month due a lack of future funding.
The facility is part of the Leicestershire-based Falcon Support Services, a registered charity with the mission to help vulnerable people transform their lives, enabling them to live independently, healthily and positively contribute to their community.
Deputy Council Leader, Cllr Michael Wyatt, has already held initial talks and been told the cut is connected with National Lottery funding.
Now Cllr Wyatt and council leader, Cllr Richard Blunt, are to have another meeting with Hub officials next week.
Cllr Wyatt said on the North West Leicestershire Liberal Democrats Facebook page: "The reason they are closing is due to National Lottery funding being cut, which has made it impossible for them to continue their current service in Coalville.
"Other areas like Hinckley and Loughborough were successful in future funding."
He added: "I've spoken to the George Smith Hub and I do wish they had come forward last year when they knew funding could be cut.
"I've asked officers to see what the council can do. Relocation is an option but obviously, that takes time and finding an income stream will also be an issue which needs addressing.
"The George Smith Hub does provide much-needed space and their service to the most vulnerable, which I've used myself for several constituents, is yet another initiative I feel will be sadly missed if the centre is to close.
"I have made further contact with the charity to ask for a further meeting to look at all options."
