An outpatient mental health centre in Coalville has been given a £400,000 refurbishment.
The upgrade is designed to improve all patient and staff rooms in the Hawthorn Centre, which is situated within the grounds of Coalville Community Hospital.
It provides individual and group therapy for patients from across North West Leicestershire, and a base for staff who visit patients in their own homes.
The centre was opened in 1995, and this is the first time it has been refurbished.
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust says that the 'stained carpets, old wallpaper and leaking radiators' have gone.
In have come wipe-clean flooring which helps reduce infection risks, brighter colours, and low energy LED lighting.
Curtains have been replaced with modern blinds - which are designed to reduce the chances of patients harming themselves.
All the toilet fittings have been replaced, and a new air conditioning system installed.
Lainy Brotherhood, a senior administration manager based at the centre, said: "The refurbishment of the Hawthorn Centre has been a fantastic project that has meant an improvement for all of those who access the building.
"We can't wait to share the building with the community when we have an official open day.
"As part of the new neighbourhood teams, we hope that it will welcome service users and staff into our Trust."
The work was led by LPT Capital Planning team and carried out by contractors Tilbury Douglas and TJ Hall on behalf of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
