A second member of staff at Coalville's Castle Rock School has tested positive for coronavirus.
Late yesterday (Sun) evening, head of school Michael Gamble wrote to parents to advise that students in three science classes and a tutor group should stay at home today (Mon).
Mr Gamble writes: "We apologise for the lateness of this letter, however this evening we have been informed that one member of our staff at The Castle Rock School has been tested positive for Covid-19.
"The health, safety and well-being of our students continues to be paramount.
"Please be assured that we have sought advice from Public Health England this evening [Sun], and we are continuing to closely follow the published government guidance.
"Due to the timing of this news, and as a precautionary measure, we are requesting that students in the following classes/groups please remain at home tomorrow [Mon].

Tutor Group Post 16 DVI "Once we have been able to speak to Public Health England again tomorrow, we will contact each parent to let them know if their child should continue to self-isolate." Two weeks ago - also on a Sunday (6 Sept) - Mr Gamble wrote to parents with a similar message...that a member of staff had tested positive and several tutor groups and classes were to remain at home, also as a 'precautionary measure'. The following day he sent a follow-up letter stating that 'identified students who may have come into contact with the member of staff should self-isolate until 18 September' and that these pupils had been contacted by telephone and issued with a letter by Public Health England. Staff who came into contact with their colleague also followed NHS guidance and self-isolated. The school made it compulsory for students and staff to wear face masks in corridors and communal areas from Monday, 14 September. In last night's email, Mr Gamble, adds: "If your child was self-isolating on Monday, 14 September, and was not in school, then this does not apply to them, and they are able to attend school tomorrow." He concludes by thanking parents for their 'continued support and cooperation'. Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Castle Rock School less than a fortnight after the first member of staff tested positive for coronavirus - speaking to returning students about how important it was to come back to the classroom.
