Thieves stole parts from a JCB digger in Ravenstone sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

North West Leicestershire Police published photos of the machinery on their Facebook and emphasised his seriously they take rural crime.

They posted: "Take a look at this JCB, does it look right to you?

"If you said no, then you are very much correct. Between 5.30pm Tuesday night and 8.30am Wednesday morning, person(s) unknown have taken it upon themselves to steal parts from this JCB which was situated within Ravenstone.

"Rural crime matters. Stealing items from plant machinery like this disrupts work that can take place within your local community.

"If you have any information regarding used JCB parts being sighted or sold in suspicious circumstances, please make contact with PC 237 Emma Holmes from our Rural Crime Team through our 101 contact number."
