TV motoring personality Richard Hammond paid a visit to Coalville workshop Cast Iron Welding Services as part of his project to restore a 70s supercar.

Hammond - formerly of Top Gear and The Grand Tour - was filming for his latest Discovery + show.

And he dropped into the Cast Iron Welding Services base at Samson Road on the Hermitage Industrial Estate.

Hammond opened his classic car restoration business - The Smallest Cog - in August and has been filming it as part of his new TV show.

The programme saw him come to Coalville earlier this year as part of him restoring an old Jensen car.

When they came to restore the engine, a large crack was discovered on the V8 engine block.

CIWS was recommended to them as the leaders in cast iron repairs.

So Richard personally brought the engine block up to Coalville for CIWS to undertake the repair for him.

Managing Director, Peter Palmer, said: "It was pretty exciting for us really.

"We were also on the Yesterday channel on Monday as part of a film of the restoration of the North Bridge."
