The Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville has launched an appeal for donations for its Christmas Toy Appeal.

Every December, the Belvoir Road-based Community Action group supports families who are facing hardship by giving children gifts to open on Christmas day.

If you would like to donate, you can visit the Marlene Reid Centre between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday.

But any donations will be needed before this Friday (December 3).

Alternatively, you can choose an item - to suit your budget - from an Amazon gift list: HERE.

In 2020, the MRC gave over 250 children and young adults a large sack of toys each to open on Christmas Day.

Each year they collect brand new books, games, toys and gifts for local children who, for whatever reason, would not receive presents this Christmas.

You can find out more details HERE.
