Cyclists have been told to keep off the new bike tracks which will be part of the former Snibston Colliery site.

Police have warned the area is still being built and remains dangerous at the moment.

A £3million plan to transform the area should be complete in late autumn Snibston Colliery plan is on course

It is part of Leicestershire County Council's regeneration scheme.

But police say that some riders have jumped the gun and are using it already.

And the site owners have made their concerns known.

North West Leicestershire Police posted a warning on their Facebook page on Monday.

It reads: "We have had a report that people are using the new bike track on the old Snibston Discovery site.

"Unfortunately the track is still under construction and as such still dangerous to use.

"The owners have asked us to ask people to please hold off using it until it's done.

"Won't be long now."
