A Police helicopter was called out over the Coalville area in the early hours of Monday morning to search for a missing man.

Leicestershire Police have confirmed that they received a call at around 3.30am due to concerns over the welfare of a man who then went missing.

It is thought the search was in the Hugglescote and Ellistown areas.

Police were on the ground and in the air - and the man was found at around 5.30am.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "A call was received around 3.30am this morning (8 June).

"It was a concern for welfare call relating to a man who subsequently went missing.

"Officers carried out a search of the surrounding area with the assistance from the National Police Air Service (NPAS).

"And the man was located safe and well around 5.30am."
