Man named and charged with attempted murder following double stabbing incident in Coalville

Leicestershire Police have this morning (Wednesday) said that a 21-year-old man has been charged following an incident where two men were stabbed close to a Coalville supermarket.

Liam Carter, of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday, June 22).

The charges relate to an incident that took place during the evening of Monday, June 13, in Long Lane near the Spar store in Coalville.

He has also been charged with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply in connection with an unrelated incident.

A 29-year-old man from Ashby was previously arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remains on police bail.

Leicestershire Police have added that the person or people named in this linked article have been charged with an offence(s) and will be appearing in court.
