Coalville charity, Living Without Abuse, has been selected to take part in the Christmas Challenge 2023 Big Give campaign.

Living Without Abuse (LWA), a charity supporting victims of abuse and/or sexual violence across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland, is aiming to raise £2,500 in just one week and needs your help.

LWA is taking part in the Big Give's Christmas Challenge 2023, where the project, 'Merry & Bright Boxes', provides Christmas Starter Packages to anyone affected during a time when abuse is at its highest, to alleviate and support those dealing with a traumatic situation.

The packages will contain essential items, such as housewares, furnishings, food and gifts, so that the pressures of having to provide during a difficult time are alleviated.

All donations received from 12pm today (November 28) until 12pm on Tuesday, December 5, will be doubled, meaning your money can support twice as many victims over the festive period.

Emma Bliss, Fundraiser at LWA said: "This year we're looking to raise £2,500 to help those suffering or experiencing a difficult time over Christmas.

"These packages will help to alleviate situations where families or individuals may be struggling emotionally, physically, or financially, at a time when they should be feeling happy, safe, and loved.

"We hope everyone will give generously where they are able, to help us reach our target and enable us to carry on the work we all feel so passionately about."

● Visit the campaign page from 12pm on Tuesday 28th November until 12pm on Tuesday 5th December and make your donation HERE.

Living Without Abuse is a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity that covers Leicester City, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

It supports all genders and ages and specialises in helping younger people who have been affected by abuse.

There is a dedicated helpline (08 08 80 200 28, Monday – Saturday, 8am – 8pm) for people wanting support, people who are worried about someone else or worried about their own behaviour.

Big Give is a registered charity (1136547) that runs match-funded campaigns for charities and special causes at key moments across the year.

By connecting charities to match funders (like philanthropists, foundations or corporates) and the public, Big Give helps them double their donations. And, in doing so, makes an extraordinary difference to the world's biggest challenges. It has raised more than £236m for charities, to date.
