The landlady of the Snibstone New Inn in Coalville says she will be leaving the pub in the new year.

Gemma King has posted on social media to say that she has handed in her six month notice.

The pub has become a popular meeting point in the town - and is particularly welcoming to the area's forces veterans.

It also hosts a number of music gigs at weekends.

Gemma posted today (Tuesday) and said: "It's with great sadness I have decided to hand six months notice in at the pub.

"Since 2019, when I signed my lease, we have had some cracking times, many memories have been made.

"For reasons I'd rather not make public, I have decided it's time to move on.

"I love all of you and thank each and every one of you for supporting me and my team.

"I hope whoever takes over will look after you all.

"When I have a final date, I'll let you know the date of the biggest party in town.

"For those that have donated items of decoration to the pub, if you would like them back, please contact me to arrange collection.

"Anything left with be auctioned off to charity during my last week of being here."
