North West Leicestershire-based Air Ambulance fundraiser Martin Cooper paid a visit to the Bright Hope Hospice to speak about his work for the service.

Martin is well known for his money raising activities for the East Midlands Air Ambulance - and it was mentioned that both organisations have similar aims.

Last year, he raised £3,000 which included a tour of 24 Air Ambulance stores across the East Midlands.

Martin visited the new Bright Hope facility which was opened almost one year ago.

Formerly Hospice Hope, it is a purpose-built daycare centre in Swannington.

Martin said: "I told a few stories about the work of the Air Ambulance and finished the visit with a quiz based around fact-finding for the Air Ambulance.

"Everyone commented how they thoroughly enjoyed a different visitor and Matt Buckley, the Bright Hope Manager, and I explained how the two charities are very similar in their requirements to fundraise to be able to sustain our services.

"There are many similarities in that we are lifesavers to those who benefit from utilising our services.

"Both organisations would benefit in terms of publicising raising awareness from this collaboration."
