The man behind comedy characters Lee Nelson and Jason Bent is playing live in Coalville next month.

Simon Brodkin - who also threw money at former FIFA president Sepp Blatter - is appearing at the Victoria Bikers' pub on September 9.

It will be promoter Doorstep Comedy Club's debut in the town and tickets for the event cost £12.50.

Brodkin is best known for playing the 'chav' character Lee Nelson, but also as Liverpudlian footballer Jason Bent.

As Bent, Brodkin ran onto the pitch at Everton and attempted to warm up with the Manchester City team ahead of the sides' Premier League match..

He was arrested and charged with pitch encroachment.

In 2015, Brodkin gatecrashed a press conference at the headquarters of the football governing body FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, during the organisation's corruption scandal.

He walked onto the stage in character as Jason Bent and threw a wad of USA notes bills worth $600 over Blatter, claiming that it was part of a bid to bring the 2026 World Cup to North Korea.

Brodkin was promptly led out of the conference by security personnel, and was arrested and charged with trespassing.

Many of Brodkin's pranks were featured in a TV programme Britain's Greatest Hoaxer which was shown on Channel 4 in 2017.

You can book tickets for the show HERE.
