An exhibition featuring local photographers begins tomorrow (Thursday) in Coalville.

Local scenes, birds, buildings, babies, creative portraits and the famous Coalville Fly all feature in the Local Lens exhibition at the Coalville CAN offices in Memorial Square (LE67 3TU.).

It starts on Thursday (April 4) at 10am with a special talk this Saturday, at 2pm, by award winning photographer Sandra Ramp, from Coalville, entitled 'Don't Forget the Squeaker'.

Sandra, of SR Portraits Photography, will be sharing top tips on photographing your babies, children and grandchildren.

The exhibition is open from 10am-4pm throughout August on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

You can bring your own photos to display and sell.

If you have a digital camera you can send your digital photos too.

Email your favourites to Harry on [email protected] and they will be added to the slide show.

If you want to have a go yourself, there is an interactive element too.

Bring your camera, or your phone when you come to the exhibition to have a go.

Add your favourite LE67 spaces to the exhibition map supplied by Tigermoon of Coalville.

"We are really proud to be able to host this exhibition" says Deana Wildgoose, CAN connector.

"There are some amazingly talented photographers in the area and it's something thing that everyone can have a go at too.

"We hope this will bring visitors of all ages in and encourage more people to join the Coalville And District Photography Society who are planning to start their new season at CAN HQ on Monday evenings."
