North West Leicestershire District Council has described the weekend's vandalism in Coalville town centre as 'mindless' and 'sad'.
Coalville residents were furious at damage caused to plants and their containers overnight on Friday Anger as vandals cause damage in Coalville.
The majority of it was caused in London Road and Memorial Square.
But the council also revealed that young trees were pulled up in Coalville Park as part of the damage.
Photos were posted on the Spotted: Coalville Facebook page on Saturday morning by passer-by Terry Taylor.
And the extent of the vandalism caused outrage among the town's public.
Councillor Andrew Woodman, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: "Last Friday evening, a large number of our flower towers and troughs in Coalville were pushed over and damaged, alongside a number of young trees being pulled out in Coalville Park.
"It is so sad that people believe this type of behaviour is acceptable.
"This mindless act of vandalism has caused upset for the local community and created a mess that we've worked hard to correct.
"It is upsetting that people cannot respect the hard work which goes into making our town centres a more colourful, bright and happier place to be.
"If you witness anti-social behaviour happening in our community, please report this via our website North West Leicestershire District Council so that we can investigate".
