Costa Coffee is going cashless and closing its seating area from Thursday - a policy which will be implemented at its Coalville branch.

The chain says that they will be fitting in with government guidance on social distancing.

Costa will serve all drinks in takeaway cups and food in takeaway packaging.

The shop says it will not be able to serve drinks in a reusable cup but will honour the 25p discount if you bring it in.

All stores will have a more limited food range What Coalville Needs To Know

A statement from Costa said: "We truly believe these changes will help us protect you and our store teams.

"We would like to thank you in advance for your support and assure that these changes are temporary and regularly reviewed.

"These are difficult times, and where we can provide a safe and familiar environment in your community, we hope to do so.

"The safety of our customers and support team is our number one priority, no more so than when operating in unprecedented times. We have made several changes as we continue to follow advice from the Government and Health Authorities."
