Coalville Town have made two new backroom appointments - including a chairman - as they begin a new era for the Ravens.

The club was forced to resign from the Southern League in May when former chairman Glyn Rennocks stepped back from his role.

Officials moved quickly to re-organise the structure and have been able to resume in the United Counties League.

Their season kicked off with a home defeat to Southwell City, followed by a 4-0 loss to Staveley Miners' Welfare.

But now the Ravens have issued a statement on their official website.

It says that the club chairman is now Paul Tubb, while Gary Pearson is First Team Secretary.

The club said: "Following a meeting of the board of directors and committee members on July 31, 2024, we wish to make the following statement.

"We are pleased to confirm that Gary Pearson has been appointed as Club Secretary for the First Team.

"Gary has been a long-standing supporter of the club and season ticket holder. We wish to extend our thanks to him for taking on this role. The directors are impressed with his input and look forward to a good relationship moving forward.

"The board of directors and committee members has also appointed Paul Tubb as the club's new Chairman.

"Paul has been involved with the club since 2016, initially just as Stadium Sponsor, then as Commercial Manager, and more recently as Vice-Chairman.

"He lives locally, works locally, and has been an avid supporter of the club since first becoming involved."

Paul said: "I would like to extend my thanks to Steve Cartwright for his 16 years of loyal service to Coalville Town FC.

"Without loyal and hardworking volunteers, the club would not exist. Steve was instrumental in the good running of the club for many years, and also for keeping the club going after Glyn stepped back, and whilst I was delighted to join forces with him and Wayne McDermott to get football back in Coalville, I am very sad to see him have to step aside.

"If I can put even half of what he has put into this club, then I know that we shall see much success.

"I would also like to recognise the efforts of the other volunteers, many of whom go under the radar, but all of whom contribute to the club. Those that open the gates, man the turnstiles, cook the burgers, wash the kit, help out in hospitality, give medical assistance and park the cars.

"There are many valued volunteers at this club, and I want to ensure that every one of them knows how integral they are to making the club what it is.
