Elizabeth Grace Hair and Beauty has won the Best Dressed Christmas Window in Coalville prize for the second year running.

The High Street-based shop was one of four winners across the reigion in the contest organised by North West Leicestershire District Council.

Elizabeth Grace Hair and Beauty also won last year, you can see details of that HERE.

The competition, which launched at the end of November, aimed to celebrate North West Leicestershire's local towns and high streets.

Shoppers and visitors were invited by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) to vote for their favourite festive window displays in Coalville, Ashby, Kegworth and Castle Donington.

In total, nearly 50 businesses from across the district took part and 568 votes were received.

To encourage people to explore the district, 100 mini Santas and a few large ones were also hidden in Coalville, Ashby, Castle Donington, Kegworth, Measham and Ibstock in this year's Have you seen Santa? competition.

Voters from both competitions were chosen at random to win local shopping vouchers just for taking part and have been contacted directly to arrange postage.

Councillor Virge Richichi, Chairman of NWLDC, said: "It's great to see the amount of effort that local businesses have put into creating their wonderful and festive displays.

"It's been another tough year but this competition really highlights the community spirit and how welcoming our high streets are across the district.

"I'd like to thank everyone that took part, and to shoppers for showing their support to our local town and village centres."

Councillor John Coxon, Leader of Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, said: "It was great to see so many businesses participating in the competition.

"It is clear a lot of time, thought and work has gone in to creating the window displays. They have brightened up the town and brought joy to many people.

"Thank you everyone who took part and to all those who took the time to vote."

The four winners are:

  • Coalville - Elizabeth Grace Hair and Beauty, High Street
  • Ashby - Indulgent Chocolates, Bath Street
  • Kegworth - The Cutting Cottage, Market Place
  • Castle Donington - Gaysey Maisey, Borough Street
