An early morning car accident forced a road closure this morning (Thursday) between Beveridge Lane and Bardon Road in Coalville.

Emergency services were called to the scene but no injuries were reported.

The road was closed up to the Birch Tree junction, Coalville-bound, following the incident.

Police have been warning drivers to find an alternative route.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said shortly after 8am: "We were called at 5.32am today (Thursday) to a report of a single vehicle collision on the A511 in Coalville.

"East Midlands Ambulance Service and the fire service attended the scene.

"No-one was injured.

"The road remains closed between Beveridge Lane/Bardon Road and Birch Tree Lane as the incident is being dealt with."

A social media post issued by police at 6.15am says: "We will provide updates as often as we can but please find alternative routes. Thank you for your patience."
