Woman freed from car after collision with tree near Coalville

A 4X4 car collided with a tree near Coalville this evening (Wednesday) and tipped over on to its side - trapping a woman.

Emergency services were called to Whitwick Road in Copt Oak.

The fire crew manged to free the woman who was treated by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service posted details on its website and said: "Call received from Leics Police reporting a 4x4 vehicle on its side after colliding with tree, one female trapped.

"Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival incident confirmed as car in collision with tree.

"Fire Service stabilised the vehicle and released the casualty.

"Female casualty treated by EMAS for slight injuries."
