Coalville Police are clamping down on the use of electric motocross bikes on the cycle track at Snibston Park.

A warning ha already been put out about using off-road bikes in the area.

And now they want to stop the cycle track being misused by the electric bike riders.

A social media post from North West Leicestershire Police reads: "Further to our post about off-road motorbikes at Snibston Park, we have been contacted by the parks manager who is now having issues with people using electric motocross bikes on the newly opened cycle track.

"Unfortunately, the track is not made for these bikes and, as such, we have been asked to inform people to stop using them at the site.

"The cycle track is a massive positive for Coalville and as such we need to make sure it's looked after.

"Whilst yes, these bikes are electrically powered, they are still mechanically propelled and as such still fall within Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.

"This power allows the Police to seize the bikes when used anti-socially.

"Please make sure you are using the appropriate place when using your bikes."
