Coalville 21-year-old is charged by Police after car crashed into house in Belvoir Road

A Coalville man is facing a drink-drive charge after a car crashed into a house in Belvoir Road.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning when the vehicle came off the road and hit a building on the corner of Avenue Road Car crashes into Belvoir Road house.

But today (Monday) a spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "A man has been charged with driving while exceeding the prescribed limit of alcohol following an incident in Belvoir Road, Coalville, on Sunday (9 May).

"A 21-year-old man, of Bridge Road in Coalville, has been released on bail and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 26."

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Structural damage was caused to the building and work was being carried out on it during Sunday.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said following the incident: "Initial reports of a car crashing into building.

"Upon arrival, incident confirmed as car having crashed into building. No injuries. The vehicle was embedded in the wall of the house."

Coalville fire crew were called out to the incident along with a Technical Rescue Team from Leicester's Southern Station.
