Coalville-based Leicester City commentator Ian Stringer is running to Wembley ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final with Chelsea.

Stringer's BBC Radio Leicester commentaries with former Foxes player Matt Piper are well known to fans.

But now Ian is covering 100 miles on foot for The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation which helps people in Leicestershire.

He is aiming to raise £19,490 from the run and - on Monday afternoon - he has already secured £3,174 in donations.

Ian says: "I was told a story of Arthur, he cycled from Leicester to Wembley in 1949 for Leicester City's first FA Cup final.

"He watched them lose out to Wolves, came out of the stadium and his bike was gone so he WALKED home.

"If he walked back then I can run from Leicester to Wembley for Khun Vichai's Foundation.

"A foundation that supports children, adults and the elderly in Leicestershire.

"So, 100 miles between Monday 10th May and FA Cup Final day on Saturday 15th May.

"Hopefully I'll be there in time to commentate on The Foxes at 17:15."
