Coalville Amazon employees mark the online giant's fifth year in the town with series of fun events

Coalville's Amazon fulfilment centre recently marked its fifth anniversary by hosting a range of events for employees.

The Coalville team took part in socially-distanced fun activities at the fulfilment centre, including a fun fair, space-themed dress-up day, sweet treats, and prize-giveaways.

The site's General Manager Martin Cox said: "We've had a great fifth year in Coalville and we wanted to do something special to say thank you to our team for all their efforts.

"It's been fun to bring everyone together to celebrate our anniversary in a safe and enjoyable way."

Darcy Edwards who works at Amazon in Coalville added: "We' proud of what we've achieved, and this was a great way to celebrate and have some fun."

Amazon announced last. month it has started recruiting for 1,500 seasonal positions in the East Midlands - including Coalville - ahead of the festive season.

The company is hiring around 20,000 seasonal positions across its UK network of fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations during the festive season.

That will include 1,500 in the East Midlands with roles available at the Amazon fulfilment centres in Coalville, Hinckley, Chesterfield, Kegworth and Sutton-in-Ashfield - the sortation centre in Bardon and the delivery stations in Bardon and Kegworth.

Pay for Operations roles starts at a minimum of £10.00 p/h rising to £11.10 p/h in some parts of the UK for all full-time, part-time, temporary, or seasonal roles in Amazon's fulfilment centres, sort centres and delivery stations.

Amazon's delivery station in Bardon is also looking for individuals to deliver parcels in their spare time for between £13 to £15 per hour.

Amazon Flex is a flexible way of making extra income, so you are able to deliver as little or as often as you like.
