Arriva is making changes to some of its services in Coalville next month - with routes to a warehouse in Bardon cut completely.

Neither the 26 or X29 services will run to the VF facility - built two years ago - as Arriva says there is not enough demand.

The VF warehouse employs around 250 people across its 600,000sq ft fulfilment centre.

But there will no longer be an Arriva service from that area of Bardon.

Arriva has announced the changes on its website - and they will come into effect on April 16.

The 11/11A route from Coalville to Agar Nook will have timetable changes.

Arriva says this is designed to 'keep buses running on time'.

The 15 route from Ibstock to Coalville and Ravenstone will also have timetable changes.

The 26/26A routes are also subject to changes.

Arriva says: "We're making some small changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, as well as introducing a route change in Groby.

"Buses will now run directly along Ratby Road stopping outside and opposite the allotments, and will no longer serve Stephenson Way, Lawnwood Road and Woodbank Road.

"All journeys will now be numbered 26. Sadly, we're not able to continue serving the VF Warehouse at Bardon as there wasn't enough customers to cover the cost of running the bus."

The X29, 29A, 29B and 29 routes from Leicester to Swadlincote will also have some alterations.

Arriva added: "We're making a number of changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, as well as introducing a route change in Markfield.

"Route 29 will continue to run around Chitterman Way, London Road and Main Street as usual, with route 29A now running directly along Leicester Road between the Cemetery and The Queen's Head.

"Sadly, route X29 will not be able to continue serving the VF Warehouse at Bardon as there wasn't enough customers to cover the cost of running the bus."
