Snow And Ice Warnings Issued For Coalville Area

A day of heavy snow and warnings of ice tomorrow (Monday) are forecast for the Coalville area.

Snow began falling at around 11am and BBC weather says there will be 'heavy snow and a gentle breeze'.

But the situation will be made worse with temperatures as low as minus six centigrade forecast for tonight.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning which lasts until midnight tonight (Sunday).

The warning reads: "Snow will bring travel disruption to parts of England and Wales.

  • Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers
  • Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel
  • Some rural communities could become cut off
  • Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected

There is a yellow warning of ice for tomorrow morning (Monday).

The Met Office says: "Icy patches will likely cause some travel disruption.

  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
