Police 'Saddened' By Damage Caused To Part Of Coalville's History

Coalville police are investigating damage being cause to the signal box at the old Snibston Colliery site in the town.

They describe it as a 'saddening' incident inflicted on part of Coalville's history.

North West Leicestershire Police revealed what had happened on their Facebook page over the weekend.

And they are asking the public for information to try and catch those responsible.

The message reads: "I am extremely saddened to have had to attend a report of damage being caused to the old signal box at the old Snibston Colliery site in Coalville.

"This is a massive part of the history of Coalville and the behaviour of those responsible is reckless and extremely disrespectful.

"I am appealing for any information which would assist us in identifying those responsible.

"If you are able to help me with this then please contact me either via 101 or DM me on the North West Leicestershire Police Facebook page quoting crime reference number 21000049141.

"Your help is always appreciated. Mike 6500."
