Window smashed at Coalville town centre store during Bank Holiday weekend

Leicestershire Police has confirmed an investigation underway after a window at Poundland in Coalville's Belvoir Shopping Centre was smashed,.

The vandalism took place on Monday evening and was reported to police.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "We can confirm that we are investigating a report of criminal damage when the windows of a shop premises in the Belvoir Shopping Centre were damaged. 

"The incident took place between 8.30pm and 9pm on Monday (18 April)."

When a photo of the damage appeared on the Spotted: Coalville site, some readers called for the precinct - which is currently being redeveloped - to be locked up at night.
