Whitwick Parish Council is offering residents a chance to speak to North West Leicestershire District Council officers about proposed extra housing in the area.

NWLDC announced the areas that are being considered for new housing last month,

That included areas between the A511 bypass and Whitwick that may reduce the separation between the village and Coalville.

A Parish Council announcement says residents can find out more on Monday (April 7) - between 4pm-7pm.

It adds: "Drop in to see the public information and have chance to chat to NWLDC officers about the consultation.

"There will be a brief presentation at 6pm followed by a question and answer session.

"As this affects residents in Whitwick, the Parish Council has arranged for a consultation event to be held at Whitwick Park Hall.

"This plan sets out where homes and businesses should be developed, areas of the district that should be protected, planning policies developers must follow and how far towns and villages can expand."
