The Heather Scarecrow Festival returns on Sunday and lasts all week.
It is the time when the residents of the village near Coalville show how creative they can be.
The streets of Heather are decorated with a variety of scarecrows - some very topical - and they usually manage to raise a smile.

It will be a busy weekend all round in Heather - with a couple of music events being staged as well.
The Queen's Head in Main Street plays host to this year's Heather Music Festival, which is spread over three days.
Starting on Friday evening, with bands on from 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, the village centre bar promises an excellent line up of local bands.

Also in Heather, Skanking At The Crown returns for a fourth year.
The Crown in Main Street is the venue for the event on Saturday.

The 1620s House in Donington le Heath is holding its annual Plant Hunter's Fair on Sunday.
The popular event returns as the visitor attraction hosts the top plant nurseries that are sure to have something special for every garden. Entrance to the fair only is £1.
The house and Tea Room will also be open. Normal charges apply to those who wish to go round the house.
This event is one of the venue's most popular of the year, so please-pre book your arrival time to ensure your place.

There is plenty of live music on in Coalville this weekend.
But the Victoria Bikers' Pub in Whitwick Lane has two acts paying tribute to a couple of legendary bands.
On Friday, Transmission play the music of Joy Division, while on Saturday night, Dizzy Lizzy recreate the classic music of Thin Lizzy.
Hugglescote Social Club has a fun quiz night on Friday.
Proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Society. Full details below.
