Once a year, in the nicest possible way, the good people of Heather go slightly insane!

Throughout the village, the gardens are dotted with scarecrows, scores and scores of them, some of celebs, some topical, many of them cheerfully daft, and all competing for the votes of the people who come from miles around to see them.

All money raised through the sale of Scarecrow Guides goes straight back into our village or donated to groups in, or associated with Heather. From the proceeds of last years festival, and accumulated funds of over £9000 was donated to village groups such as the School & Pre-school, St John the Baptist Church and Heather St John's Football Club for ongoing projects and equipment. So your support of the festival is vital to keep raising much needed funds for our village.

Scarecrow Headquarters are based Heather St John's Football Club (LE67 2QJ) where there is ample parking and facilities.

Scarecrow Guides are available for £2.50 to help visitors find all of the scarecrows and vote for their favourite. You can also take part in the Scarecrow Treasure Hunt with the chance to win prizes!
